I am recovering from a pretty bad bout of the stomach flu so this post will be mainly pictures. Pictures speak a thousand words though. 🙂
Charlotte Tilbury came out with her Bar of Gold highlighter when her line launched last year in the UK. I thought it was beautiful but I didn’t want to spend money on the shipping. However, Net-a-porter was having a free international shipping promotion a couple months ago, and I finally bought Bar of Gold. Unfortunately, it came damaged and I received my replacement a couple weeks ago. I think its still available in the UK but I’m not sure if its available in the US.
The packaging is really cute, reminds of me…a Bar of Gold! It is lightweight plastic though which doesn’t irritate me that much, but some people don’t like it if they are paying a premium price. Bar of Gold is 30 GBP, around $50 USD. Of course, you don’t have to pay VAT if you aren’t in the UK, I think it came to 25 GBP without the VAT. It was a good deal as I didn’t have to pay the international shipping charge of 25 GBP.
I love the Fine Gold imprint on the product, so cute. 🙂 This highlighter is different from her Filmstar Bronze and Glow in that its slightly more chunky and has a gold tone, as you can tell from the name. I think it would be nice for the holidays when everything is gold-toned eyeshadows with red lips & nails. Here it is on my skin. This was taken late at night so this should tell you the longevity of the product. Same goes for the eyeshadow, which is Suqqu Eye Color Trio in 02 Kinshiseki. Review of the eyeshadow to follow soon.
Hope you enjoyed it, sorry this isn’t readily available to those in the US and other countries. I find the Filmstar Bronze and Glow to be just as good, if not better. And really, there are many good highlighters out there! 🙂 Have a good weekend!
