Behold the last post on the trifecta of the Suqqu Eye Colour Palettes! Check out 01 Toutouseki and 02 Kinshiseki if you would like to see the other two palettes. Aoruri is a beautiful blue and plum toned trio. It is just as beautiful as the others and I am very happy to own all three.
The case is the same as the other two, very compact and cute but functional. The Suqqu brush that comes with the palette is also very good, and I frequently use it for blending.
Although Aoruri was the least desired palette for me when I saw the promo pictures, when it arrived in person the colors were so beautiful that they are on par with the other 2 palettes. All are must haves in my opinion!
Shade 1: A very sheer, white shimmer highlight shade. It looks a bit scary and ultra white in the pan but upon application it was very sheer and wearable.
Shade 2: A plum shimmer. Super pretty but I wish it was a bit more pigmented.
Shade 3: Medium blue shimmer. An interesting, complex shade, it can run light blue or dark blue depending on the lighting as the wrist swatch demonstrates.
Below I used the plum shade on the lid and lower lashline, unfortunately you can see how the plum isn’t very pigmented and sort of disappears next to the blue shade. I used the blue in the crease and outer lower lashline, and the white highlight shade in the inner corner and dabbed on the center of the lid. Eyeliner is Chanel Stylo Yeux in Bleu Exquis, Mascara is Armani Eyes To Kill, Brows are Anastasia Beverly Hills Pencil in Caramel.
Although the flash is showing more blue, in real life the plum showed up better but I still would have preferred a bit more of the plum. Suqqu eyeshadows are notoriously easy to blend so that is probably half of the problem. Its not a huge problem, just a minor issue. I have to find something wrong with Suqqu sometimes or else I will be poor from buying everything they sell! Overall, a very beautiful palette and I love it.
On a side note, I am really digging blue eyeshadow lately! I never would have thought to use blue eyeshadow on green eyes until I started reading blogs a couple years ago, and now I use it more and more. If you like blue eyeshadow, Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Solo #18 Scarab is a really awesome bright blue, as is Urban Decay Peace. And finally, who can forget that insane blue from the Tom Ford Unabashed Palette from Summer 2014, sadly a limited edition. There are lots of great blues of course, but those are some of the blues I have enjoyed working with.
Hope you guys are having a great day, soon to be weekend! I love these Suqqu trios, they are so easy, full of beautiful shades that blend effortlessly. Very happy these are permanent because I know I will use these up soon. 🙂
