Neiman Marcus

Neiman Marcus

Laura Mercier is a brand that I don’t purchase very often, but when I do buy their products I always ask myself why I don’t have more. Their products are really great quality, I love Secret Camouflage, its my go-to concealer for redness and blemishes. For the last few weeks, I’ve been reading about the Mini Caviar Stick Collection but I had been talking myself out of it. However, one can only resist for so long. On a side note, if anyone has kids, did you see that recent Sesame Street episode about resisting temptation? I would be a terrible example for resisting. lol. Guilt! The guilt is strong!

Before Sesame Street shamed me, I finally found these at Lord and Taylor. It was sent to me from one of their stores. If this is still almost or completely sold out online, I suggest calling Neimans, Nordstrom, Lord and Taylor, etc to see if they can ship it out from their stores.

Anyway lets get to it! So this collection is $55, a steal considering a full-size Caviar Stick is $28. You get 6 colors : Rosegold, Amethyst, Moonlight, Copper, Khaki and Cocoa.

Since I have been terribly lazy, I haven’t used my photography setup for these photos. I am in Christmas mode! Here are all 6 colors side by side:

Aren’t these gorgeous?? My favorite shade so far is Rosegold, its such a pretty light pop of color. I also really like Cocoa, its a great matte brown to define the eyes. I’ve used these a few times now and I just love them. They glide onto the lids very easily, don’t pull at all, and they are extremely easy to blend. After 12 hours of wear, they didn’t crease or smudge. Insane! Even better than the Tom Ford Cream Eyeshadows (reviewed here).

Below is my current favorite look for daytime when I need to get out the door quickly, which is ALWAYS. I applied Rosegold as a base color all over the lid, then Amethyst on the center of the lid, followed by Moonlight on the outer corner. Amethyst sort of faded into the rest of the shades, its not very pigmented but I didn’t mind because it added subtle dimension. Then I blended these shades out with a brush, then applied Cocoa very lightly onto the lashline and outer corner. I also blended this out and into the crease. The lower lashline has a bit of Moonlight all along, and Cocoa on the outer corner.

Hopefully this set is still available, I certainly feel that I got my money’s worth. It is so easy to achieve a quick yet sophisticated look, which is what we all want for a daytime look I think! Its very natural but also quite pretty with the shimmer. I did forget to mention that all shades are shimmery apart from Khaki and Cocoa, which lean from slightly satin to matte. They are extremely long-lasting. If you can’t get this set, I would highly recommend the singles. And if you manage to track down this Laura Mercier set, BUY IT. Its incredible!!

Hope y’all are having a lovely holiday so far! I am up to my eyeballs in wrapping presents and baking treats. Tomorrow I have a Christmas party so it will be fun to dress up and wear fabulous sparkly Christmas makeup. So far I have planned matte neutrals in the crease, probably Urban Decay Naked & Buck, Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon in Champagne Diamonds in the inner corner (lightly because that stuff can be a hot mess if you aren’t careful), then Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in Initiation on the lid with YSL Liner in Bronze Black. Haven’t figured out the lip yet. I might post an instagram pic of the finished look though. 🙂

Talk to y’all soon!
